Namwon-si Announces Naming Contest for 'Complex Public Library' Until the 13th of Next Month

Namwon City, Jeonbuk, is holding a contest to name the new complex public library scheduled for completion in April next year.

According to the city on the 30th, the complex public library is being constructed at 343-8 Geumdong, with a total floor area of 2,163㎡ (1 basement floor, 4 above-ground floors). It will serve as Namwon City's representative library, playing a central role in knowledge and culture, and will be newly established as an open complex cultural space where anyone can freely read.

Applications for the contest are open from the 31st until the 13th of next month, and any citizen residing in Namwon City can participate.

The contest requirements are ▲ a name that symbolizes Namwon City's representative library and expresses the library's image ▲ a name suitable as the official library name, easy to pronounce, distinctive, and must include the word ‘Library’.

To apply, download the application form from the City Hall website under Communication and Participation ? City News ? Public Notices, fill it out, and submit it via email.

The proposed names will be comprehensively evaluated based on four criteria: symbolism, originality, suitability, and popularity, and a total of three names will be selected.

The results are scheduled to be announced on December 15 on the city website. As prizes, the top winner (1 person) will receive 500,000 KRW, and two runners-up will each receive 200,000 KRW in local currency.
