Netmarble Disabled Athletes Team Wins Silver Medal at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games

View original imageNetmarble Cultural Foundation announced on the 30th that the Netmarble Disabled Athletes Team, which participated in the '2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games' held from the 22nd to the 28th, won a silver medal in the mixed coxed four event.
The competition featured a total of five medal events, and four players from the Netmarble Disabled Athletes Team (Jeon Soongbo, Kang Iseong, Kang Hyunju, Bae Ji-in) were selected as representatives to participate in the mixed coxed four and men's single sculls events.
The mixed coxed four event is a race where four rowers, two men and two women, row 2000 meters under the direction of one coxswain (pilot). In this event, players Kang Iseong, Kang Hyunju, and Bae Ji-in finished second in the final behind China, earning the silver medal. Jeon Soongbo, who competed in the men's single sculls event, did not reach the medal positions but finished in 6th place, concluding with a respectable performance.
Silver medalist Kang Iseong said, "I am happy to have achieved good results through hard work, and I thank the coaches, other players, and the director who supported me. I also appreciate the federation and my team, Netmarble, for their support behind the scenes that allowed me to train without worries. I will continue to work hard to achieve good results at the National Para Sports Festival to be held in November."
The Netmarble Cultural Foundation selects professional coaches to provide systematic training programs to create the best environment for athletes to focus solely on improving their skills. They also support all training equipment necessary for competition, including racing shells, oars, and auxiliary devices.

Meanwhile, the Netmarble Cultural Foundation established the disabled athletes team in 2019, the first in the gaming industry, to promote disabled sports, support long-term independence, and expand activities for social participation and rights protection of people with disabilities. In October, the team participated in the '2023 Seoul Mayor's Cup National Para Rowing Competition,' winning a total of 17 medals (9 gold, 6 silver, 2 bronze).
