Hwaseong-si Renovates Gungpyeong Port and Jebu Port Sea Fishing Sites
Facility Improvements to Enhance Durability and Functionality
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 30th that it will renovate the sea fishing spots at Gungpyeong Port and Jebu Port by January 10th next year.
The sea fishing spots at Gungpyeong Port and Jebu Port, established in 2009, are public marine facilities in the form of bridges installed over the sea. The Gungpyeong Port sea fishing spot is 193 meters long and 6 to 15 meters wide, while the Jebu Port sea fishing spot is 77 meters long and 6 to 12 meters wide.
The city plans to provide visitors to the sea fishing spots with not only a resting space but also a place to enjoy culture and leisure through this renovation.
Based on the detailed safety inspection of the sea fishing spots conducted last March, the city will focus on facility improvements to prevent deterioration in durability and functionality of key components.
Jung Myung-geun, mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "Through this repair work, we plan to complete the construction quickly so that local residents and users can use the sea fishing spots safely and comfortably."
