LS Cable & System Obtains International Certification for 'Turnkey Project Management'
Asia's First in Shipbuilding Industry
Expanding Turnkey Orders with LS Marine Solution
LS Cable & System announced on the 30th that it has obtained the international certification (ISO 21502) for 'Turnkey (design and construction lump-sum bidding) project management' from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). This is the first certification acquired by an Asian cable company and the second worldwide following European companies.
ISO 21502 is granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) after evaluating the processes, systems, and personnel involved in executing turnkey projects.
On the 30th, at the LS R&D Center in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, Lee In-ho, Head of Technology Development at LS Cable & System (CTO, Executive Director, left), and Lee Il-hyung, CEO of Lloyd's Register (LRQA), are taking a commemorative photo for the turnkey project management international certification (ISO21502).

LS Cable & System pursued this certification to establish improvement directions for integrated management of submarine projects, elevate its business capabilities to the next level, and actively respond to the international standard requirements of global clients.
An LS Cable & System official explained, "Since submarine cables can cause large-scale power outages and chaos when faults occur and recovery is not easy, overall management capabilities in project execution are crucial," adding, "Bids requiring ISO 21502 certification are increasing, especially in Europe and North America."
The company plans to expand turnkey orders by collaborating with LS Marine Solution, a specialized submarine cable construction company, leveraging this certification as a milestone.
