Large-Scale Anti-Government Protests in Bangladesh... Calls for Prime Minister's Resignation
About 120,000 opposition supporters in Bangladesh (estimated by the police) held a large-scale anti-government protest demanding the resignation of the prime minister and neutral election management.
According to major foreign media on the 28th (local time), more than 100,000 members and supporters of the main opposition party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), gathered in front of the party headquarters. Supporters of Jamaat-e-Islami, the largest Islamic party, also gathered about 25,000.

Some protesters threw Molotov cocktails and clashed with the police. Faruq Hossain, spokesperson for the Dhaka Police Department, stated that one police officer died and about 100 were injured. The police arrested at least 200 protesters.
