President-elect of Maldives "Negotiations to Begin on Withdrawal of Indian Troops"
Mohamed Muizzu (45), the pro-China president-elect of the Maldives, announced that negotiations have begun for the withdrawal of Indian troops stationed in the country. Muizzu will be inaugurated as the 8th president on the 17th of next month.
According to major foreign media on the 27th (local time), Muizzu stated, "The negotiations conducted so far have been successful," adding, "We want a mutually beneficial bilateral relationship. After the withdrawal of Indian troops, no forces from China or other countries will enter the Maldives."
