Starting from a tie for 58th place, 8 strokes behind, Lim Hee-jeong made 5 birdies (1 bogey). She gained momentum with consecutive birdies on holes 5 and 6 and another birdie on hole 10 (par 5), then took a brief breather with a 3-putt bogey on hole 13 (par 4). Afterwards, she added consecutive birdies again on holes 14 and 15, joining the race for the championship. She is just 1 stroke behind the leader, aiming for her 6th career win, her first in 1 year and 4 months since winning the 36th Korea Women's Open sponsored by DB Group last June.
At the Pinx Golf Club where the tournament was held, strong winds blew with an average speed of 7 m/s and gusts reaching up to 11 m/s. Lim Hee-jeong said, "The wind was really strong, so it wasn't easy," but added, "My shots have been improving since the last tournament, so I played according to how I felt." She continued, "My shot feel was good, and my putting distance control was accurate, so there were hardly any difficult holes," and added, "Thanks to today's smooth round, I was able to reduce physical exhaustion."
