Samsung Heavy Industries recorded operating profit for the third consecutive quarter.
Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 27th that it achieved sales of 2.0255 trillion KRW and an operating profit of 75.8 billion KRW in the third quarter. Despite a decrease in working days due to summer vacation and Chuseok holidays, sales increased by 4% compared to the previous quarter (1.9457 trillion KRW).
Operating profit also increased by 29% compared to the previous quarter (58.9 billion KRW) due to a higher sales proportion of LNG carriers. The cumulative operating profit for the first to third quarters is 154.3 billion KRW.

A Samsung Heavy Industries official stated, "As profitability improvement is gaining momentum, we expect to achieve the operating profit guidance of 200 billion KRW set at the beginning of the year." He added, "Orders for the second batch of Qatar LNG carriers and one large FLNG are expected within the year, so annual orders are also projected to exceed the yearly order target."
