Participation in 'SSW' Held in Las Vegas
Focus on Expanding Market Channels for Specialty Materials Including Allulose
Samyang Corporation is accelerating its entry into the U.S. market with specialty (high-functionality) ingredients that can be applied to low-calorie food and beverages or health functional foods.
Samyang Corporation, a food and chemical affiliate of Samyang Group, announced on the 27th that it participated in the food ingredient exhibition "2023 SSW (Supply Side West)" held in Las Vegas, USA, for two days starting from the 25th.
SSW is a global food ingredient exhibition attended by food industry professionals from around the world. This year, about 1,100 companies and over 15,000 visitors gathered, making it a great success. Samyang, participating for the second consecutive year following last year, increased its booth size by 1.5 times compared to last year and provided customized solutions according to the needs of each client.
At this exhibition, Samyang focused on promoting its flagship product, allulose. The strategy is to highlight the excellence of Samyang’s allulose and expand overseas sales channels in line with the expansion of the largest allulose new plant in Korea, scheduled for completion in the first half of next year. Currently, Samyang produces liquid and crystalline forms of allulose under the brand name "Nexweet."
In addition, to target the local health functional food market, prebiotic ingredients such as indigestible maltodextrin and kestose were also exhibited. Samples of kombucha (fermented tea), protein bars, and jelly, which actually contain these ingredients, were provided to help visitors better understand them.

Lee Sang-hoon, head of Samyang’s Food BU, said, "Considering that North America is a major export market for allulose, we have been actively participating in major food fairs held in the U.S. since last year to increase contact points with local clients and accelerate our U.S. market penetration." He added, "We will continue to explore various ways to promote the excellence of our specialty ingredients."
