Jeonnam Province Seeks Community-Centered Solutions to Regional Issues Instead of Government-Led Approaches
Regional Innovation Symposium Held... Sharing Best Practices
Jeonnam Province sought ways for communities, rather than government-led initiatives, to take the lead in solving the increasingly complex and diverse regional issues.
On the 26th, the province announced that it held the '2023 Regional Innovation Symposium' at Suncheon Eco-Grad Hotel to share outstanding cases of regional innovation.
The Regional Innovation Symposium, held under the theme of ‘Happy Changes That Make Residents Smile,’ was attended by over 150 participants including innovation experts and activists.
Marking its second year, the symposium was held in conjunction with the 27th Jeollanam-do Residents’ Day celebration, adding significance to the core keywords of innovation: participation and solidarity.
The opening ceremony began with an opening address by Myung Chang-hwan, Vice Governor of Jeonnam Province, followed by a video introducing regional innovation, a keynote lecture by Woo Jang-han, Executive Director of the Gyeongbuk Regional Problem-Solving Platform, and an innovation performance.
Subsequently, three sessions were held: ‘Stories of Public-Private Collaboration That Bloom with Laughter,’ ‘The Youth Spring Breeze Blowing in Jeonnam,’ and ‘Digital Innovation, a Safe Future,’ where participants engaged in passionate discussions on topics of interest.
