A total of 3,515 candidates will take the 2024 Gyeongsangnam-do public middle school teacher employment exam, which is about a month away.
On the 25th, the Gyeongnam Office of Education announced that 3,515 applicants applied for the competitive exam to select 411 candidates, showing an average competition rate of 9.12 to 1.
According to the provincial Office of Education, for the general recruitment category, ▲ 2,714 applicants applied for 287 middle school general subject teacher positions ▲ 186 applicants for 19 special middle school teacher positions ▲ 230 applicants for 28 health teacher positions ▲ 57 applicants for 8 librarian teacher positions ▲ 121 applicants for 14 professional counseling teacher positions ▲ 174 applicants for 26 nutrition teacher positions.
The competition rates for each category are ▲ middle school general subject teacher 9.46 to 1 ▲ special middle school teacher 9.79 to 1 ▲ health teacher 8.21 to 1 ▲ librarian teacher 7.13 to 1 ▲ professional counseling teacher 8.64 to 1 ▲ nutrition teacher 6.69 to 1.
In the disability recruitment category, ▲ 12 applicants applied for 20 middle school general subject teacher positions ▲ 18 applicants for 4 special middle school teacher positions ▲ 2 applicants for 2 health teacher positions ▲ 1 applicant for 2 nutrition teacher positions ▲ 0 applicants for 1 professional counseling teacher position.
Among public school teacher applicants, 1,134 were male and 2,381 were female, showing a higher female ratio.
By age, those in their 20s accounted for 2,002 people, or 56.9% of the total, followed by 1,068 in their 30s, 382 in their 40s, and 63 in their 50s.
Forty-four private school foundations recruited 138 candidates in 24 subjects, with 646 applicants, recording an average competition rate of 4.68 to 1.

The location for the first round of the middle school teacher employment exam, to be held on November 24, can be checked on the provincial Office of Education website on November 17, and the list of successful candidates will also be announced on the education office website on December 28.
