One Year Since the Itaewon Tragedy... Gyeongnam Countermeasure Meeting Sets Up Memorial Altar in Changwon
A memorial altar was set up on the 25th in Jungang-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, ahead of the first anniversary of the Itaewon tragedy.
At the memorial ceremony held by the Itaewon Tragedy Gyeongnam Countermeasures Meeting, representatives from the Gyeongnam Headquarters of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Progressive Party, the Justice Party, and local civic groups attended.
A memorial altar for the first anniversary of the Itaewon tragedy has been set up near the Cultural Square in Jungang-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.

They stated, "Although a year has passed, the pain and memories of that day remain vivid," and urged, "Safety measures must be established and a related special law enacted to prevent such a tragedy from happening again."
