Korea-Qatar MOU on SME and Venture Cooperation Signed
Ministry of SMEs and Startups Signs Business Agreement with Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced that on the 25th (local time), coinciding with President Yoon Seok-yeol's state visit to Qatar, it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry at the Qatar Royal Palace to expand exchanges between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and venture companies of both countries.
This agreement was made to activate exchanges in the SME and venture sectors between the two countries and to expand mutual market entry by linking Qatar's SME and venture company development policy, a detailed implementation strategy of Qatar National Vision 2030, with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Startup Korea'.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry agreed to exchange information on SMEs and ventures and to establish public-private cooperation networks. In connection with this agreement, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency and Qatar Development Bank also signed an MOU for SME and venture collaboration.

Choi Won-young, Director of Global Growth Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, "With the signing of this new MOU with the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry, we expect the foundation for our SMEs and ventures to enter the Middle East to be further expanded," adding, "We hope that active exchanges of small businesses and startups will become the core of expanding trade and investment between the two countries."
