Yoon Completes State Visit Schedule in Saudi Arabia and Moves to Qatar
President Yoon to Undertake State Visit from 24th for 2 Days
Horticulture Expo, Summit Meeting, Business Forum Scheduled

President Yoon Suk-yeol will conclude his state visit schedule in Saudi Arabia on the 24th (local time) and move to Qatar. On the same day, President Yoon will travel to Doha, Qatar, to continue his state visit schedule for one night and two days until the 25th.
According to the Presidential Office, President Yoon plans to visit exhibitions including the Korean Pavilion at the Doha International Horticultural Expo as his first schedule in Qatar. The International Horticultural Expo is being held under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment," and Korea is operating the Korean Pavilion showcasing excellent smart agriculture technology.
On the following day, the 25th, he will hold a summit meeting with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and attend a state luncheon together. He will then encourage participants through the Korea-Qatar Business Forum, attended by 300 businesspeople from both countries. As the final schedule in Qatar, he will visit Qatar Education City, which claims to be the educational hub of the Middle East region, and engage in dialogue with young Qatari leaders.
Earlier, President Yoon announced the expansion of economic cooperation with Qatar. In an interview with the local state news agency, he said, "So far, cooperation has been centered on energy and construction, but we intend to expand the areas of cooperation to investment, defense, agriculture, culture, and human exchange," adding, "To this end, we will diversify strategic communication channels between the two countries."

As this is the first state visit by a South Korean head of state, President Yoon's expectations for expanding cooperation are high. He evaluated, "Qatar is our second-largest LNG supplier, and stable energy supply has been a reliable pillar for Korea to maintain energy security amid global supply chain changes," and "Landmarks involving Korean companies, such as the Qatar National Museum and Lusail Plaza Tower, are recognized as symbols of friendly cooperation between the two countries." He also emphasized the necessity of expanding economic cooperation. President Yoon mentioned strengthening cooperation with Qatar in ▲investment ▲defense ▲agriculture ▲culture ▲human exchange, stating, "We aim to promote cooperation programs that allow the peoples of both countries to enjoy more tangible benefits."
