The CEO of a company was handed over to the prosecution on charges of threatening the late taxi worker Bang Young-hwan with a weapon before Bang, who self-immolated demanding the full implementation of the taxi fixed salary system, passed away.
On the 23rd, the Yangcheon Police Station in Seoul announced that it had sent A, a man in his 50s and CEO of Haeseong Transport, to the prosecution on August 16 on charges of special intimidation.
A is accused of threatening Bang, who was holding a rally in front of the Haeseong Transport building in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on August 24, saying "I will kill you," while swinging a support rod about 1 meter long.
The police received a complaint from Bang around mid-last month and had been investigating A on charges of attempted murder.
The police sent A to the prosecution on charges of special intimidation instead of attempted murder.
