Anseong-si Transfers Burial Exhumation and Interment Reporting Tasks to Eup, Myeon, and Dong Offices
On the 23rd, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the grave exhumation and burial reporting tasks, which were previously handled at the city hall, will be transferred to the local eup/myeon/dong community service centers where the graves are located starting from the 1st of next month.
The city explained that this transfer of duties was promoted as part of citizen-centered administration in response to continuous civil complaints requesting improved accessibility to the exhumation and burial reporting services. To this end, the city submitted related proposals to the city council and amended the ordinance.
A city official expressed expectations that "the inconvenience of having to visit the city hall directly when exhuming or burying graves located far from the city hall will be resolved."
