"Full Mobilization of City Administrative Power"
Vaccination Completion by the 24th
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it held an emergency meeting on the prevention of bovine 'Lumpy Skin Disease' at the city hall disaster situation room. Lumpy Skin Disease is a viral disease that only infects cattle through blood-sucking insects such as mosquitoes, and it is designated as a Class 1 livestock infectious disease in Korea due to its consequences such as miscarriage or infertility in cattle when it occurs. After the first confirmed case was reported on the 20th in Seosan, Chungnam Province, cases have been confirmed not only in the neighboring Taean County but also in Cheongbuk and Poseung-eup in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, and in Gimpo City.
At the meeting attended by about 20 people including Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun and related officials, the core topics were vaccination and prevention measures for vector animals following confirmed cases in nearby cities and counties.
