Gyeonggi-do Announces Results of 'Our Neighborhood's Long-Standing Shops Contest'

On the 22nd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it finalized 25 Nopo stores through the ‘Our Neighborhood's Long-Established Stores (Nopo) Contest,’ which was promoted to discover old stores containing the unique sentiment and stories of Gyeonggi Province and to foster them as representative content for lifestyle tourism.
Previously, from July 18 to August 4, Gyeonggi Province conducted an online contest for ▲ recommending long-established stores in neighborhoods ▲ naming a representative brand ▲ and creating a representative character. By the end of August, 25 Nopo stores were selected through the first round of document screening.
The selected Nopo stores will receive benefits such as ▲ management education, tourism content and product development training support ▲ provision of Gyeonggi Nopo plaques and certificates ▲ production of storytelling card news, webzines, and storybooks ▲ support for promotional marketing content production.
In particular, 12 representative Nopo stores selected through expert on-site evaluations and public voting will receive support for tourism marketing content production, including the development of themed courses by region.
Along with the contest, the ‘Gyeonggi Province Our Neighborhood's Long-Established Stores Representative Naming (Brand Contest)’ ultimately selected ‘Gyeonggi Nopo’ as the brand name. Also, the ‘Gyeonggi Province Our Neighborhood's Long-Established Stores Representative Character’ was chosen as ‘Pogu,’ a raccoon character who searches for hidden Nopo stores throughout the neighborhoods.
