Israeli Military: Most of the 200 Hostages Taken to Gaza Strip Are Alive
The Israeli military announced on the 20th that most of the approximately 200 hostages taken by the Palestinian militant group Hamas are still alive.
According to AFP, the Israeli military stated in a press release distributed that day, "Most of the hostages are alive," and added, "There are also bodies that have been moved to the Gaza Strip."

On the early morning of the 7th of this month, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, infiltrating armed militants and causing large-scale casualties. Subsequently, they abducted numerous hostages, including civilians, soldiers, and foreigners, and took them to the Gaza Strip.
The hostages are reportedly held by Hamas and another Palestinian militant group, Islamic Jihad, and are dispersed across various locations in the Gaza Strip.
