Yeongdeok-gun Designated as Gyeongbuk Future Education District … Promoting 'Village Learning Centers'
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has been finally selected as the target site for the ‘2024 Gyeongbuk Future Education District’ project led by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, securing momentum for local educational development.
The ‘Gyeongbuk Future Education District’ is a project in which the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education and local governments collaborate through agreements to build communities between schools and local societies to support students' educational activities.
With this project selection, Yeongdeok-gun will share 200 million KRW each year from the education office and the county government for four years from next year to 2027, totaling 1.6 billion KRW, to promote village schools in various fields such as humanities, arts, and sports, operate curricula utilizing local experience centers, and run student clubs in cooperation with the village.
