Korea Airports Corporation Launches Promotion to Attract Medium- and Long-Distance Routes at Gimhae Airport
Operation of Booth at the 2023 World Route Development Forum
Korea Airports Corporation participated in the '2023 World Route Development Conference' held in Istanbul, Turkey for three days starting from the 15th, conducting promotional activities to establish medium- and long-haul routes at Gimhae Airport.
This conference is the world's largest annual aviation route development meeting. It was held on the largest scale since the COVID-19 pandemic, with participation from 263 airlines, 303 airport operators, and 125 related organizations.
The corporation met with representatives from 15 overseas airlines including LOT Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Emirates Airlines, and Etihad Airways to explain the air travel demand and route development potential of Gimhae Airport. Additionally, it promoted the tourist destinations behind regional airports such as Muan, Yangyang, and Cheongju, as well as incentives for new route launches.

In particular, LOT Polish Airlines agreed to continue discussions on necessary cooperation for future route establishment. The company announced its 2028 mid- to long-term plan to expand at least 20 routes including Busan. Emirates Airlines, which received additional traffic rights between Korea and the UAE, decided to review the possibility of launching routes from Gimhae Airport.
