Anseong City Decides Next Year's Living Wage Hourly Rate at 11,140 Won
Applied to 509 Employees of City and Invested/Contributed Institutions
On the 17th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province held a labor-management-government council meeting and announced on the 18th that the living wage for 2024 has been set at 11,140 KRW per hour.
This amount is a 2.5% increase compared to this year's living wage and is 1,280 KRW higher than the government-announced minimum wage of 9,860 KRW.
The newly decided living wage applies to workers affiliated with Anseong City who are not subject to the Public Officials Salary Regulations and Local Public Officials Salary Regulations, as well as workers belonging to Anseong City's invested and funded institutions. The city explained that there are 509 people subject to this living wage application.

Kim Bora, Mayor of Anseong City, said, "I hope this living wage increase will contribute even a little to the local economy," adding, "Taking the selection of the semiconductor materials and parts specialized complex as an opportunity, we will actively attract related industries and strive to provide citizens with high-quality and stable jobs."
