Exhibits include eco-friendly Bio-POM (Polyoxymethylene) made from bio-based or organic waste-derived raw materials instead of fossil resources, eco-friendly E-POM that contributes to carbon emission reduction, and eco-friendly compound products made from raw materials extracted from marine waste such as discarded fishing nets.
POM is an engineering plastic with excellent rigidity and wear resistance, mainly applied to drive parts such as gears in various fields including automotive, electrical and electronics, household goods, and industrial machinery. Representative automotive applications include safe belt anchors, window regulators, and fuel pumps.
Kolon Plastics will also operate a space where customers can directly compare and experience materials made from conventional and eco-friendly raw materials, strengthening communication with global clients.
They will showcase the "KOCETAL® M-Series," a POM medical equipment dedicated product targeting the high value-added European medical market. POM is applied to machinery in various industries due to its high rigidity, excellent wear resistance, long-term usability, and processability. Kolon Plastics has developed medical-grade materials that comply with biocompatibility and food-contact regulations based on strict quality control, gaining recognition for quality and safety. Through this, they plan to accelerate the expansion of the high value-added medical materials market.
