Goheung-gun, Goheung Cultural Center Kim Yeon-su Room Reopens in November

Various Performances Available Including Choir and Orchestra Viewing

Gohung County, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced that the construction of the Kim Yeon-su Hall (Grand Theater) at Gohung Cultural Center, which had been under renovation, has been completed and will reopen on November 1.

To provide residents with various opportunities to enjoy cultural and artistic performances, a total project cost of 1.8 billion KRW (720 million KRW from the provincial government and 1.08 billion KRW from the county) was invested to replace stage machinery, install acoustic reflectors, replace auditorium seats, and install a high-definition projector.

After completing construction and safety inspections from May to October, the hall will reopen starting with the celebration event of the ‘49th Gohung County Residents' Day’ on November 1.

The newly reopened Kim Yeon-su Hall at Gohung Cultural Center has a total area of 1,155㎡ and a total seating capacity of 572 seats (315 on the first floor and 257 on the second floor). It is characterized by the ability to enjoy various high-quality performances such as choirs and orchestras, and it is expected to greatly contribute to satisfying the cultural and artistic needs of the residents.

Additionally, an automatic control system has been introduced to the stage machinery drive units to prevent safety accidents for both the audience and performers.

A county official stated, “As Kim Yeon-su Hall is the only performance venue in our county, we will continue to do our best to improve and maintain the facilities to provide residents with a variety of performance experiences.”
