Gwangju Dong-gu 'Neighborhood Dementia Prevention Program' Implemented
Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will conduct the 'Neighborhood Dementia Prevention Program' until the end of November to create an environment for dementia prevention.
The program aims to identify risk factors for dementia occurrence, guide residents on practical behavioral measures, and provide cognitive training programs to improve memory and quality of life.
Until November 30, the program will be held once a week for a total of 8 sessions at four village community hubs, Village Sarangchae, located in Sansu 1-dong, Jiwon 1-dong, Hakun-dong, and Jisan 2-dong, targeting about 50 residents.
The main contents include cognitive screening tests, dementia prevention education, craft and horticulture activities, and dementia prevention exercises, offering a customized approach from diagnosis to prevention and alleviation treatment.
