'King's Icheon Rice' Officially Launched for Sale in Malaysia
Annual Export Target of 100 Tons Starting Next Year
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 17th that it has started local sales of 'Imgeumnompyo Icheon Rice,' which was shipped for export to Malaysia at the end of August, from this month.
Icheon City has been promoting the local export of 'Imgeumnompyo Icheon Rice' through the New Vitality Project Promotion Team. Imgeumnompyo Icheon Rice is a rice brand of Icheon City registered as Geographical Indication Agricultural Product No. 12. Afterward, the city shipped 9.2 tons of rice on August 9th following official import approval from the Malaysian government.

Following this sale, the city plans to complete local JAKIM halal certification within the year and export more than 100 tons of rice annually starting next year, while expanding sales channels to surrounding areas such as Singapore.
