Gurye-mil Jjajangmyeon Festival Successfully Concluded
Gurye Wheat Jjajangmyeon Tasting, Sales and Experience Program Held
Promoting the Excellence of Gurye Wheat through Jjajangmyeon Festival
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the '2023 Gurye Wheat Jjajangmyeon Festival' from October 13 (Fri) to 14 at Seosicheon Park in Gurye-eup.
Sponsored by Gurye-gun and hosted by the Gurye Wheat Jjajangmyeon Festival Promotion Committee, the festival was visited by about 2,000 people including the Gurye-gun governor, provincial and county council members, heads of related government agencies, representatives from the Soil Revival Movement Headquarters, and local residents.
Local district lawmakers Seo Dong-yong, Kim Du-kwan, Seo Sam-seok, Lee Gae-ho, Lee Tae-gyu, Jeong Tae-ho, Jeong Hee-yong, Joo Cheol-hyun, Hong Jeong-min, and Hwang Un-ha congratulated the Gurye Wheat Jjajangmyeon Festival through videos, emphasizing the importance of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
At the event, visitors enjoyed tasting jjajangmyeon made with Gurye wheat, along with sales of various agricultural products from Gurye-gun and eco-friendly related experiences.
In particular, the wheat playground created using Gurye wheat attracted many children and received favorable reviews from visitors.
Additionally, the wheat exhibition booth featured participation from the wheat research team of the Rural Development Administration's Food Science Institute, showcasing products related to domestic wheat and promoting the excellence of Korean wheat.
Visitors who came with their families said in unison, "We were surprised that the jjajangmyeon made with Gurye wheat was tastier than expected, and there were many experiential programs that children could enjoy together, which was beneficial."
Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "I hope many people felt the taste and nutrition of Gurye wheat and the value of Gurye-gun's excellent agricultural products through this festival," adding, "We will do our best to successfully hold next year's Soil Revival Expo."
