Industry 1st Vice Minister: "Will Soon Announce 3rd Economic Free Zone Basic Plan Including 'Incentive Enhancement and Deregulation'"
Jang Young-jin, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, announced on the 17th, "We will soon announce the 3rd Basic Plan for Economic Free Zones, which includes measures to strengthen incentives and ease regulations."
Vice Minister Jang made this statement while attending an international forum commemorating the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Economic Free Zones on the same day.
The "International Forum Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Launch of Economic Free Zones" is being held over two days, from the 17th to the 18th, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Songdo, Incheon. This forum was organized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Economic Free Zones (first designated in Incheon in 2003) and to create an opportunity for the Economic Free Zones to take a new leap forward as a global advanced business hub. About 300 participants, including Vice Minister Jang, Yoo Jeong-bok, Mayor of Incheon, heads of various Economic Free Zone authorities, domestic and international economic special zone and related organization officials, and academic experts, are attending.
The forum will focus on the theme "The Future of Global Economic Free Zones," with participation from economic special zone officials and experts from various countries engaging in discussions. There will also be a discussion on the theme "20 Years of Achievements and Future Development Directions of the Incheon Economic Free Zone."

Through the 3rd Basic Plan for Economic Free Zones, we will strive to make the Economic Free Zones the best global investment destination."
