Busan Gijang-gun Appoints 'Eternal Romantic Balladeer Choi Baek-ho' as Promotional Ambassador
On the 14th, Busan’s Gijang County appointed singer Choi Baek-ho as the promotional ambassador at the opening ceremony of the 17th Gijang Chaseong Cultural Festival.
Singer Choi Baek-ho is known to the public as a romantic balladeer and troubadour who sings romance with his rough husky voice. Since his debut in 1976, he has been actively performing and is also working as a radio DJ and broadcaster.
In 2019, he successfully completed the nationwide tour concert commemorating his 70th birthday along with the release of his album titled "7 (Seven)," and he continues to hold concerts with the conviction to perform on stage even at the age of 90.
At this year’s Chaseong Cultural Festival, Choi Baek-ho held a romantic concert, presenting 11 treasured songs such as "The Face I Miss" and "About Romance" to the residents of Gijang County.
As the appointed promotional ambassador, singer Choi Baek-ho will represent Gijang County for the next two years, widely promoting the various charms of Gijang both domestically and internationally, and playing a role in elevating the cultural level of Gijang.

Singer Choi Baek-ho, a native of Gijang, debuted in 1976 with "My Heart Has Lost Its Way" and has received numerous awards including the 1983 MBC Top 10 Singer Award, the KBS Music Awards Male Singer Award, and the 2016 Korea PD Awards for Best Host. He has also released treasured albums such as "Choi Baek-ho’s Romance Is Back Season 3" and continues to hold nationwide tour concerts.
