Woongjin ThinkBig Partners with NCSoft and Tutorus Labs for AI Customized Education

View original imageWoongjin ThinkBig announced on the 16th that it has signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with game company NCSoft and AI education service company Tutorus Labs to jointly develop an ‘AI Customized Learning Service’ for AI digital textbooks. These companies plan to build an education-dedicated large language model (LLM), which will serve as the foundation for generative AI services, through technological cooperation.
In this joint development, Woongjin ThinkBig will collaborate using accumulated related data and various digital education technologies, including online educational content and learning coaching technologies that design level-specific learning curricula. NCSoft will apply automatic question generation technology using its self-developed large language model (VARCO LLM), and Tutorus Labs will cooperate in development based on chatbot technology that analyzes problem-solving processes.
Woongjin ThinkBig is currently developing AI digital textbooks for mathematics in line with the government’s directive to introduce AI digital textbooks into public education by 2025. Through the education-dedicated LLM jointly developed this time, it plans to further enhance learning coaching and chatbot functions to provide a more advanced learning experience than existing AI personalized learning services.

Jinhwan Jeong, head of the Edutech Research Institute at Woongjin ThinkBig, stated, “Through continuous cooperation and research and development among the three companies, we will build a high-quality proprietary education LLM,” adding, “It is expected to be actively utilized in digital education settings, including AI digital textbooks.”
