Bang Sin-sil '2 Wins Hunt'..."I'm the Super Rookie" (Comprehensive)
Dongbu Construction and Korea Land Trust Championship 9-Point Victory
Cheering After 5 Months Since May E1 Charity Open
Lee Somi 2nd Place, Kim Minbyeol and Hwang Yumin Tied 4th Place
‘Super rookie’ Bang Shin-sil reached the 2-win milestone.
On the 15th, Bang Shin-sil added 13 points in the 4th round of the KLPGA Tour Dongbu Construction·Korea Land Trust Championship (total prize money 1 billion KRW) held at Iksan Country Club (par 72, 6,724 yards) in Iksan-si, Jeonbuk, securing a dominant victory by 9 points (43 points). This is her second win in five months since the E1 Charity Open in May, with a winner's prize of 180 million KRW. It is the first time in four years since Lim Hee-jung won three times in 2019 that a rookie has won more than twice. This tournament was played using a modified Stableford scoring system awarding 8 points for an albatross, 5 points for an eagle, 2 points for a birdie, -1 point for a bogey, and -3 points for double bogey or worse.

Starting from second place by 1 point, Bang Shin-sil made seven birdies (and one bogey). She took the lead early with consecutive birdies on holes 1 and 2 and another birdie on hole 4 (par 3). After a brief pause with a bogey on hole 6 (par 5), she added four more birdies on holes 7, 10, 14, and 17 to complete a perfect victory. After her first win, Bang went through a challenging adjustment period with five missed cuts but showed clear recovery by finishing in the top 10 twice in the last three tournaments. She ranks 10th in prize money (622.56 million KRW) and 10th in the points race for the Grand Prize (348 points). In the Rookie of the Year points, she is third (2,039 points) behind Kim Min-byeol (2,526 points) and Hwang Yu-min (2,328 points).
Bang Shin-sil said, "The large gallery gave me strength," and added, "My shot feel was good, so I played aggressively." She continued, "After my first win, I was impatient to get my second win quickly, but when my results got worse, I let go of the desire to win, and gradually things improved." She expressed her ambition, saying, "I want to win more than chasing the difficult Rookie of the Year title. I will participate in all remaining tournaments and seize the opportunity if a chance for a third win comes."
