Two Ships Collide at Masan Wonjeon Port... 5 Injured, Vessel Sinks
At around 6:01 a.m. on the 14th, a 3-ton fishing boat and a 7-ton aquaculture management vessel collided near Wondeon Port in Masan, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Changwon Coast Guard on the 15th, fishing boat A departed from Donghae-myeon, Goseong-gun at around 5:40 a.m. that day and was passing through the breakwater of Wondeon Port.

As a result of the accident, five people including anglers on board vessel A were injured, and the vessel was damaged and flooded.
Upon receiving a report via the Haeroad app from a passenger on vessel A, the Changwon Coast Guard dispatched patrol boats, coastal rescue boats, and the Coast Guard rescue team to the scene.
Shortly after arriving at the scene, the injured and those in need of rescue were transported to the hospital, and the damaged vessel was towed to Wondeon Port using a tugboat.
An oil fence was installed around the flooded vessel to prevent the leakage of ship fuel and other pollutants, preparing for additional damage such as marine pollution.
A Changwon Coast Guard official said, “We plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident based on statements from the reporters and others,” adding, “With the recent autumn fishing season in full swing, there are many fishing boat departures, so extra caution should be taken to ensure safe navigation.”
The ‘Haeroad app’ used by the passenger to report to the Coast Guard is a marine safety app that provides various information such as current location based on electronic charts, marine weather information, pier approach information, and leisure restricted areas.
