Two Women Crossing at Red Light Hit by Car: One Dead, One Seriously Injured
On the afternoon of the 13th at around 7:15 PM, an accident occurred in Daeyang-myeon, Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, where two women walking on a crosswalk at a red light were hit by a vehicle, resulting in one death and one serious injury.
According to Hapcheon Police Station on the 14th, a male driver in his 70s, Mr. A, was driving straight in the first lane of a two-lane one-way road at Namjeonggyo when he struck two women crossing from the right side of the vehicle: a woman in her 70s, Ms. B, and a woman in her 60s, Ms. C.
Both were immediately taken to the hospital after the accident, but Ms. B ultimately passed away, and Ms. C is receiving treatment for serious injuries. The pedestrian signal at the crosswalk was red at the time of the accident, and the driver was reportedly not under the influence of alcohol.
