2023 Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Academy Opens, Starting a 3-Month Journey
Listening to Leading Farmers' Success Know-How, Sharing Vivid On-Site Experiences
On the 12th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk held the opening ceremony of the '2023 Gumi City Returning to Farming and Rural Living Academy' in the conference room of the Future Agriculture Education Center at the Agricultural Technology Center, marking the start of a vigorous three-month journey.
This training will be conducted over 12 sessions totaling 63 hours from October 12 to December 14, targeting 28 participants who are returning to or planning to settle in rural areas.
The program is well-structured to cover everything from preparation to settlement stages, including sharing successful cases for local settlement, self-sufficiency methods, technical education on circular and eco-friendly farming methods, and early settlement support through agricultural product distribution and e-commerce marketing strategies.
Seven leading farms specializing in different crops within the region were invited to share their success know-how, providing an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge that cannot be learned from theory alone through vivid experience sharing on site.
Even after the training, the city plans to actively support continuous exchange and cooperation between returning farmers and leading farms to ensure that returning farmers can continuously contribute to local agriculture.
