Hwaseong-si Enacts 'Ordinance on Installation and Operation of Elderly Welfare Facilities'
Basis for Establishment and Operation of 'Hwaseong Silver Dream Center'
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 12th that it has enacted and promulgated the "Ordinance on the Installation and Operation of Elderly Welfare Facilities in Hwaseong City" as the basis for establishing and operating municipal elderly care facilities and home-based elderly welfare facilities.
This ordinance establishes the foundation for building municipal elderly welfare facilities to provide elderly care functions and high-quality nursing services in preparation for the increasing elderly population and long-term care demand.
The ordinance includes provisions on admission and usage eligibility, management and operation delegation, operating expenses related to the facility operation by the trustee, and the use of profits.
The city is currently conducting a design competition for the construction of the municipal elderly care facility, ‘Hwaseong Silver Dream Center.’ After selecting the final winning design through evaluation in November, the city plans to proceed with basic and detailed design services and begin construction in August 2024.

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "With the enactment of this ordinance, we have accelerated the promotion of the Hwaseong Silver Dream Center construction project," adding, "We will do our best to provide high-quality long-term care services to improve the quality of life not only for the admitted elderly but also for their families."
