Urban Agriculture Experience Center

Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) has created an urban agriculture experience center and a forest playground on approximately 5,000 pyeong of idle land near Oryu IC.

The district is promoting the 'Southwest Area Park and Green Space Network Project' to increase the insufficient green space within the city and provide residents with various leisure spaces.

This project, which involved a city budget of 2.2 billion KRW, began construction in December last year and was completed in September.

The urban agriculture experience center (about 3,600 pyeong), located south of Oryu IC, was developed as an ecological experience learning site where crops can be grown. In addition to the experience space, about 5,500 rose bushes and 48,000 flowering plants were planted to allow visitors to enjoy colorful flowers throughout all four seasons.

A circular walking trail of approximately 300 meters and resting shelters were created around the experience center, transforming it into a healing place where residents can enjoy nature and relaxation within the city.

The forest playground (about 1,400 pyeong), located north of Oryu IC, features dense trees along with a children's playground, a toddler playground, exercise areas for adults, and a circular walking trail, making it a space expected to be loved by people of all ages.

Starting this month, the district plans to pilot an urban agriculture experience program for children at local daycare centers and kindergartens, with plans to expand it to family units from next year.

Furthermore, after consultations with the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Urban Infrastructure Headquarters, the district will install a circular walking trail, resting shelters, and exercise facilities connected to the forest playground on part of the green area north of Oryu IC, which is currently used as a work site for the flattening construction of Nambu Sunhwan-ro.
