Transformed into Canvas from Discarded Banners! ... BPA Conducts Volunteer Activities
Busan Port Authority (BPA) conducted a volunteer activity on the 10th where seniors painted pictures using discarded banners.
On this day, BPA invited about 10 local seniors to join employees in painting pictures on canvases made from discarded banners, with the theme of "the sea."
The seniors enjoyed a pleasant time showcasing their hidden talents and skills as they painted sea landscapes and more with brushes and paints on the discarded banner canvases alongside BPA employees.
BPA planned this volunteer activity as part of the upcycling program for discarded banners promoted by the Busan Regional Problem Solving Platform.
The Busan Regional Problem Solving Platform is working to reduce resource waste and environmental pollution caused by discarded banners by transforming them into canvases and exhibiting paintings created directly by citizens.
Including the artworks painted by the seniors on this day, the Busan Regional Problem Solving Platform will collect all paintings made by citizens on discarded banner canvases and exhibit them at Dadaepo Station of the urban railway from the 26th to the 29th, along with various events.
In September, BPA also collected 46.2 kg of discarded banners generated at its headquarters and the Busan Port International Convention Center and delivered them to a preliminary social enterprise.
