KOSPI Recovers to 2450 Level, Rising Nearly 2% on Institutional Net Buying
The KOSPI recovered to the 2450 level, rising nearly 2% thanks to net buying by institutional investors.
On the 11th, the KOSPI closed at 2450.08, up 47.50 points (1.98%) from the previous trading day.
On that day, the KOSPI rose more than 2% from the start of trading due to net buying by foreigners and institutions, even reaching the 2460 level during the session. However, in the afternoon, foreigners switched from net buying to net selling, partially giving back the gains.
By investor type, individuals and foreigners net sold 510.7 billion KRW and 117.7 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, institutions net bought 620.9 billion KRW.
By sector, medical precision and electrical electronics rose 3.28% and 3.27% respectively. Additionally, chemicals, manufacturing, securities, steel, and metals all increased by more than 2%. Conversely, textiles and insurance fell by more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 68,200 KRW, up 1,800 KRW (2.71%) from the previous trading day. POSCO Future M and LG Energy Solution rose 8.43% and 7.31% respectively. Along with these, LG Chem and Samsung SDI increased by more than 4%. On the other hand, KB Financial fell 1.77%.
On the KOSPI, 714 stocks rose, including Korea ANKOR Oilfield which hit the upper price limit. Without any stocks hitting the lower price limit, 180 stocks declined, and 39 stocks remained unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 817.12, up 22.12 points (2.78%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions net bought 181.9 billion KRW and 35.4 billion KRW respectively. Conversely, individuals net sold 209.8 billion KRW.
Most sectors rose, with general electrical electronics and finance jumping 6.23% and 5.88% respectively. Semiconductors increased by 3.23%, while metals and computer services also rose more than 2%. Conversely, paper and wood fell 0.45%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 243,500 KRW, up 20,500 KRW (9.19%) from the previous trading day. EcoPro rose 7.25%, and POSCO DX increased 4.80%. Additionally, L&F, SM, and HPSP all rose more than 3%. On the other hand, Rainbow Robotics fell 1.20%.

On the KOSDAQ, 1,315 stocks rose, including Pureun Technology and Winia Aid which hit the upper price limit. Without any stocks hitting the lower price limit, 216 stocks declined, and 75 stocks remained unchanged.
