Held under the theme "The Autumn Promise Delivered by Silver Grass," the festival transformed the 4 km-long silver grass path into themed festival spaces, adding to the enjoyment of the citizens.
The festival opening ceremony, set against the backdrop of the silver grass field, featured the "Table of 100" with Korean masters, drawing great enthusiasm from attendees.
In connection with the festival theme, a large mural titled "Promise of Love," engraved with messages of love by 500 people including families, couples, and friends, and "Promise to Myself," where 1,000 tourists wrote their wishes and resolutions on pinwheels to complete a wind path, also attracted attention.
Performances harmonizing with the silver grass, such as the Busking World Cup, small concerts, the National Amateur Arts Competition, and the Gwangju Fringe Festival, heightened the autumn atmosphere and captivated visitors.
Silver Grass Yoga and the Spacing Out Contest held in the silver grass field were also spotlighted as healing programs in harmony with nature.
The Silver Grass Festival, a representative landscape festival of Korea, emphasized the importance of a sustainable future by incorporating eco-friendly elements throughout the event.
The 14-seat electric car and bicycle rickshaw, introduced for the first time this year, gained great popularity, and eco-friendly silver grass chopsticks appeared at the Silver Grass Tavern.
Experience programs such as the Earth Love Walking Challenge, Earth Protection Bicycle Riding, Silver Grass Book Concert, Children's Carpenter Festival, Dadokdadok Silver Grass Fairy Tale Land, and Earth Love Children's Selection Contest received enthusiastic responses from families with children.
Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu Office, said, "This festival was a 'natural festival' where people could feel and enjoy the beauty of natural scenery in the city as it is, and a 'Seo-gu-style festival' distinguished by unique content that anyone?family, friends, or couples?could participate in and fully enjoy."
He added, "Next year, we will further enhance the completeness of the healing festival in the city where silver grass, sunset, and culture and arts harmonize."
