On Hangul Day, Song Hye-kyo's Good Deed... Provided Hangul Map to LA LACMA Museum

View original imageActress Song Hye-kyo and Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University, who have consistently donated Korean language guides to famous museums and art galleries worldwide, made a benevolent gesture on Hangul Day by providing an online Korean map to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the largest art museum in the western United States.
On the 9th, Professor Seo announced via social media (SNS) that "a simplified Korean map has been provided on the LACMA website," adding, "Following English and Spanish, Korean is now the third language available for the map." He further explained, "If you wish to visit LACMA, you can check the Korean map on the website to locate each exhibition hall," and "Once you receive a ticket, you can tour the museum with the Korean guidebook provided."

LACMA stands for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the United States, which houses approximately 149,000 artworks ranging from ancient times to the present.
Previously, in June, Professor Seo and Song Hye-kyo produced and donated a detailed Korean guidebook covering the overall introduction, map, and visitor precautions of the museum.
So far, Professor Seo and Song Hye-kyo have donated Korean guidebooks to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, Canada. Professor Seo is in charge of planning, while Song Hye-kyo handles sponsorship.
Professor Seo emphasized, "Next, we plan to expand distribution to the European region," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that Korean language services are supported at major museums, art galleries, and famous tourist sites worldwide."
In addition, Professor Seo and Song Hye-kyo have been conducting projects to donate Korean guidebooks, Hangul signboards, and bas-relief artworks to independence movement-related historic sites overseas.
In 2013 and 2019, they donated bas-relief artworks and Hangul signboards to the Lee Jun Memorial Hall in The Hague, Netherlands. Last year, they donated a bas-relief artwork of independence activist Kim Kyu-sik, who served as vice chairman of the Provisional Government, to the Provisional Government Office in Chongqing, China. Also, in 2019, to commemorate the anniversary of independence activist Yun Bong-gil’s heroic act, they produced and donated a bronze bas-relief artwork of Yun Bong-gil to the Yun Bong-gil Memorial Hall in Shanghai, China. In 2014, they provided a Korean guidebook to the Dosan Ahn Chang-ho House at the University of Southern California (USC) in the United States.

This year, on the March 1st Movement anniversary, they produced and released a multilingual video titled "The Lady of the Provisional Government, Su-dang Jeong Jeong-hwa (photo)," depicting the life of Su-dang Jeong Jeong-hwa, who managed the affairs of the Korean Provisional Government. Additionally, on Liberation Day, they produced 10,000 copies of a guidebook introducing Korean independence movement sites in Hawaii, USA, and donated them to the Korean Studies Center at the University of Hawaii.
