The 'Mugshot Law,' which passed the National Assembly on that day, stipulates that photos taken by investigative agencies must be disclosed within 30 days from the date of the decision to disclose personal information. Forced photography is also possible if necessary. This amendment was prepared in response to calls to strengthen the effectiveness of the personal information disclosure system for suspects in serious crimes, following a series of heinous crimes involving violence against unspecified many people. The scope of crimes subject to personal information disclosure, which was limited to specific violent crimes or sexual offenses, has been expanded to include rebellion, foreign exchange crimes, organized crime groups, sexual crimes against children and adolescents, and drug-related crimes.
The amendment related to the protected childbirth system, which allows pregnant women to give birth anonymously, also passed. At the plenary session that day, the Special Act on Support for Crisis Pregnancy, Protected Childbirth, and Child Protection was approved. According to this, pregnant women in crisis will be supported to give birth anonymously at hospitals. This was created to support cases where women choose to give birth outside the hospital due to concerns about their identity being revealed. On that day, Kang Eun-mi of the Justice Party and Kang Sung-hee of the Progressive Party held opposing debates, but the final vote was 133 in favor, 33 against, and 64 abstentions out of 230 present members.
