Gwangsan District Council of Gwangju Holds Policy Meeting on 'Transition to Equalization at Gwangil High School'
The Administrative Autonomy Committee of the Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City recently held a 'Policy Meeting for the Transition of Gwangil High School to a Standardized High School.'
The meeting was organized to hear opinions from related organizations and residents regarding the transition of Gwangil High School, a non-standardized special high school, to a standardized high school.
About 30 people attended, including Kim Seong-ryul, principal of Gwangil High School, representatives from educational institutions and related organizations, Gwangsan district council members, relevant officials, and residents.
At the meeting, Principal Kim presented on the topic of 'The Necessity of Transitioning Gwangil High School to a Standardized High School,' followed by a discussion among attendees about current challenges such as reducing the number of classes and difficulties in student recruitment, as well as possible solutions.
Lee Woo-hyung, a Gwangsan district council member who chaired the meeting, emphasized, "In order for children to learn and grow freely within equal opportunities and possibilities, it is essential to first establish a basic educational environment and conditions."
