Lee Chang-yong, Governor of the Bank of Korea, is delivering a congratulatory speech at the "Bank of Korea and Korean Finance Association Joint Policy Symposium" held at the Bank of Korea in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 5th.

The Bank of Korea announced on the 6th that Governor Lee Chang-yong will depart on the 9th to attend the major 20-country (G20) Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting held in Marrakech, Morocco, as well as the IMF (International Monetary Fund)-WBG (World Bank Group) Joint Annual Meetings.
Governor Lee plans to participate in the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting to exchange views with finance ministers, central bank governors, and officials from international financial institutions of member countries on the global economic situation, the macroeconomic impact of crypto assets, and regulatory and supervisory measures.
At the subsequent IMF Annual Meetings, he will review global economic risk factors such as high interest rates, economic and geopolitical fragmentation, and global debt issues, and discuss desirable policy response directions.
Additionally, during the meeting period, on the 12th, Governor Lee will attend the International Institute of Finance (IIF) conference as a panelist to discuss global economic issues and hold meetings with key figures in the international financial market and policymakers.
The IIF is a global association of financial institutions established in 1983 in response to the Latin American debt crisis. It prepares analytical reports on the global economic outlook and global debt issues. This conference will also feature panelists such as Andrew Bailey, Governor of the Bank of England, and Fran?ois Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Bank of France.
