All 207 Radiation Tests on Ulsan Agricultural and Marine Food Products Confirmed 'Safe'
Ulsan Health and Environment Research Institute, No Detection in Q3 Results
All food items subject to inspection, including seafood, were found to be safe in the third quarter radioactive contamination test in the Ulsan area.
The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 6th that no radioactivity was detected in any samples from the radioactive contamination tests conducted on seafood, agricultural products, and processed foods from July to September in the third quarter of this year.
The inspection covered a total of 207 cases: 162 seafood samples, 41 agricultural products, and 4 processed foods. No radioactive iodine (131I) or cesium (134Cs, 137Cs) was detected in any of the samples.
The institute conducts inspections targeting ▲ seafood produced in aquaculture farms ▲ agricultural and marine products and processed foods distributed within the jurisdiction ▲ ingredients supplied for school meals, in order to alleviate public concerns related to the discharge of contaminated water from Japanese nuclear power plants.

The institute aims to conduct a total of 630 food radioactive contamination tests by the end of 2023 and plans to focus on radioactive contamination tests mainly on seafood, which is of high public interest, in the fourth quarter.
