A Corpse Found in Freezer of Closed Restaurant... Police Launch Investigation
A body that had been dead for several tens of days was found in a commercial refrigerator inside a restaurant in a redevelopment area in Busan, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to the Busan Nambu Police Station, a report was received on the 5th at 12:47 PM about a male body discovered in the freezer of a closed restaurant in the redevelopment zone of Gamman-dong, Nam-gu.
The informant was a redevelopment official who found the body while inspecting for leaks and other issues; the freezer was powered off at the time. The deceased male was identified as a man in his 60s who was a nearby resident.
The police explained that although the freezer door can be opened from the outside, it is difficult to open from the inside.
The police are preserving the scene and conducting a precise investigation of the cause of death together with the National Forensic Service and others.

A police official stated, “Due to decomposition, it is difficult to estimate the exact time of death, but it appears to have been at least 20 days ago,” adding, “No particular external trauma has been found so far.”
