"Not Detected by Thermal Cameras" Ukraine Develops 'Transparent Cloak'
"A Newly Developed Product That Can Save Soldiers' Lives"
Ukraine, which is at war with Russia, claimed to have developed an 'invisibility cloak' that can effectively evade enemy detection.
On the 4th (local time), according to the British Daily Express and others, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, announced the development of the invisibility cloak through social media (SNS) and posted related videos.
The released video showed a man wearing the invisibility cloak barely visible on a thermal imaging camera. In contrast, two men not wearing the invisibility cloak were clearly captured by the thermal imaging camera.
Minister Fedorov wrote on his X (formerly Twitter), "Have you ever heard of the 'invisibility cloak' from fairy tales? Ukraine made it," adding, "The invisibility cloak can evade Russian thermal imaging camera tracking. It will enhance the efficiency of our soldiers' night operations."

According to the Ukrainian military, the invisibility cloak was developed by Ukraine's defense technology platform 'Brave1,' established in April, and recently completed successful testing.
The invisibility cloak features heat insulation and waterproof functions, weighing up to 2.5 kg. According to foreign media, this is the first time Ukraine's invisibility cloak has been revealed. However, it is reported that the 35th Marine Brigade actually wore it during Ukraine's counteroffensive in June.
Minister Fedorov emphasized, "The invisibility cloak is one of the newly developed products that can save the lives of our soldiers fighting on the front lines," adding, "We need more of these."
Meanwhile, as the war in Ukraine, which began with Russia's invasion, has continued for over a year and seven months, the Western bloc supporting Ukraine is reportedly facing ammunition shortages.
