Event Commemorating Pregnant Women's Day Held at Suncheon National Garden

Free Admission to Suncheonman National Garden for Pregnant Women on the 10th

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced that it will hold the 18th Pregnant Women’s Day commemorative event on the 10th at the Suncheonman National Garden West Gate Wetland Center Performance Hall.

Pregnant Women’s Day (October 10) is a legally designated commemorative day established to overcome low birth rates through positive awareness of pregnancy and childbirth and to create a social atmosphere that considers and protects pregnant women.

On the day of the event, any pregnant woman who presents pregnancy verification documents can enter the Suncheonman National Garden free of charge.

This event includes the Pregnant Women’s Day photo contest award ceremony and exhibition of winning works, parenting education, vocal performances, provision of pregnancy congratulatory packages, instant family photo shoots, and mental health checkups.

Following this, a raffle event for prizes such as strollers will be held, and side events for children attending with their parents will be conducted by the Daycare Center Association and the Social Welfare Meal Management Support Center, including bracelet making and camellia perfume making.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The photo contest award ceremony will begin at 10 a.m., and parenting education will be conducted from 11 a.m. by Park Geun-joo, director of the Children’s Coaching Center at the Korea Child Education Development Institute, under the theme “A Baby Born of Love, A Couple Born as Parents.”

A Suncheon City official said, “We hope many pregnant women will participate in this event and enjoy the event venue and the garden expo,” adding, “We will strive to create a culture that considers pregnant women so that they can have safe and healthy pregnancies and childbirth.”
