Muan-gun Promotes Housing Renovation Project for Welfare Blind Spots
Penalty Fees for Illegal Buildings Returned to Community through Residential Environment Improvement Project
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 4th that it is promoting a renovation project for old and deteriorated houses targeting those who are not recipients of housing benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act.
The county established the "Muan-gun Special Account for Building Promotion Installation and Operation Ordinance" in March 2017 with the purpose of promoting the construction service industry and ensuring housing safety for socially vulnerable groups.

Using the enforcement penalty fees for illegal buildings imposed and collected under Article 80 of the Building Act as operating funds, this year a total budget of 180 million KRW has been allocated to improve the living environment of 9 households through structural reinforcement, finishing work, heating work, and sanitary facilities.
The project targets households that are either low-income self-owned households just above the basic livelihood security level or general low-income self-owned households in welfare blind spots. Applications were received in advance through recommendations from town and township heads, and the support recipients were finalized through a resolution of the Muan-gun Building Committee.
Governor Kim San said, "This project will contribute to the housing stability of residents in blind spots who do not receive housing welfare support," and added, "We plan to continuously promote various local return projects."
