Love Bread Delivery for Vulnerable Elderly
The Retired Talent Volunteer Group of Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do (President Ha Hyun-jeong) carried out a Love 愛 Bread Sharing volunteer activity on the 25th at the bakery room of the Gwangyang Volunteer Sharing Center, with 20 members in attendance.
The Retired Talent Volunteer Group made 400 pieces of three types of bread?red bean bread, soboro, and madeleines?and delivered them to elderly care service users in the community through the Gwangyang Senior Welfare Center.
The participating members said, "Although it is physically demanding, thinking about the seniors enjoying the bread deliciously gives us a sense of fulfillment," and added, "We will continue to rush to wherever the volunteer group’s help is needed and carry out volunteer activities."
Park Jeong-geum, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, said, "We expect that the Retired Talent Volunteer Group members will create a happy retirement through various volunteer activities and play a leading role in making Gwangyang a happy city by extending warm hands to neighbors around them."

Meanwhile, the Retired Talent Volunteer Group was established in 2019 with the purpose of encouraging retirees to participate in volunteer activities to enjoy meaningful leisure time and share their experience and wisdom with the local community to practice love for neighbors. Currently, 40 members aged 60 and over who wish to volunteer are active.
