To mark the first anniversary of the opening of the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island Ecological Park, the county will hold a 'Promotional Concert' on the 27th, one day before the Chuseok holiday.
The concert, held on a special stage in front of the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge, will begin at 2 p.m. with a fusion percussion performance as a prelude, followed by the anniversary ceremony, performances by top domestic Miss and Mister Trot singers, and the 7th Okjeongho Song Festival.
From 3 p.m. on the same day, top domestic trot singers such as An Seong-hoon, who won the championship on the popular program Mister Trot 2, Hong Ji-yoon, a finalist of Miss Trot 2, trot fairy Kang Ye-seul, and Mr. Chu Chu Hyuk-jin are expected to deliver lively performances to tourists of various age groups.
Since the admission fee to Bungeo Island Ecological Park will be free on the 27th to commemorate the first anniversary of the opening of the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island Ecological Park, a large number of tourists are expected to visit.
With the arrival of autumn, the county is placing about 12,000 chrysanthemum flower pots around the Okjeongho Suspension Bridge and Bungeo Island Ecological Park, anticipating a nationwide influx of tourists.
Using flower beds previously planted with zinnias, celosia, verbenas, and sanpachens, as well as chrysanthemum pots in various colors such as yellow, pink, and purple, a diverse chrysanthemum-themed display harmonizing with Bungeo Island will be exhibited.
When the chrysanthemums bloom fully, the elegance of cosmos and Korean aster, combined with the watercolor-like autumn foliage, will create a harmonious spectacle, making it a beautiful autumn park where visitors can enjoy colorful autumn flowers.
Additionally, the vast 3,000-pyeong (approximately 9,917 square meters) cosmos landscape area has been developed as a healing spot where the brilliant cosmos flowers and the sparkling Okjeongho blend beautifully.
The county continuously manages the flowers seasonally to ensure vibrant blooms and is actively working to create a space enjoyable for the whole family by supplementing children's playground facilities and expanding the forest library.
County Governor Shim Min said, "I hope visitors will create wonderful memories with their families by visiting Bungeo Island Ecological Park not only on the day of the concert but also during the upcoming golden holidays and autumn trips. We will also make every effort to ensure safety inspections of facilities and maintenance of the surrounding environment so that visitors can enjoy the colorful and beautiful autumn flower festival without inconvenience."
